Course Overview

The Fundamentals of Robotics course provides a comprehensive introduction to the world of modern robotics. Starting with the history and applications of robots, learners will explore the mechanical principles of motion, actuators, and control systems. The course covers essential electronics, including sensors, motors, and microcontrollers (Arduino/Raspberry Pi), followed by programming in Python and C++ with exposure to ROS (Robot Operating System).

Participants will also gain hands-on experience through guided projects such as line-following robots, obstacle avoidance, and basic robotic arms. In addition, the course introduces artificial intelligence concepts such as computer vision, navigation, and human–robot interaction. By the end of the programme, learners will be equipped with the knowledge and practical skills to design, build, and program simple robotic systems, and understand their applications in industries such as manufacturing, healthcare, service, and automation.
